Be careful of the silent killer within your body, it is reported to be the leading cause of death globally and it will strike you when you least expect it.
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), also known as the heart disease, are a group of disorders that affect the heart and blood vessels, the human cardiovascular system. In latest World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, CVDs have taken the lives of 19.8 million people worldwide in 2022, representing 32% of global deaths. 85% of these deaths were caused by heart attack and stroke.Â
Locally in 2024, Singapore Heart Foundation's statistics reported 30.5% of deaths by CVDs, meaning 1 in every 3 deaths happen from heart diseases or stroke.Â
Kinhong supplies two Chinese remedies, Tong Xin Luo Capsules and Kingpanax San Qi Pills that manage the two CVDs elaborated here, Atherosclerosis and Atherothrombosis respectively.Â
Atherosclerosis and Tong Xin Luo Capsules
Atherosclerosis is the progressive buildup of plaque in the inner arterial walls over many years, spanning decades. Minute amounts could start to settle in damaged blood vessel walls when we are young, but remain undetectable and negligible. Our lifestyles, diets and hereditary conditions affect the amount of fat and cholesterol saturated in the blood, resulting in different rates of plaque accumulation.Â

Tong Xin Luo has clinical and basic studies that show its effectiveness to slow down atherosclerosis development and to stabilize plaque layers. Unstable plaque could result in another complication, atherothrombosis.Â
Atherothrombosis and Kingpanax San Qi Pills
Atherothrombosis is the formation process of a blood clot (thrombus) in the blood vessel. It occurs when the accumulated plaque surface ruptures, and the body's natural response to patch the damaged area will create a blood clot which will serve its intended purpose but also unintentionally restrict even more blood flow within the narrowed blood vessel.Â

San Qi contains Panax notoginseng saponins which are active components in the traditional herb that demonstrate antiplatelet properties. Platelets are cells found in blood essential for clotting blood to stop bleeding. The antiplatelet properties are found to restore optimal functions in blood platelets.Â
